From the Postmaster
Hi, I'm Miro Jones and I'm postmaster of the Bermagui Local Post. I founded BLP in March 2022.
I deliver mail on my 1960s Malvern Star bicycle to people in Bermagui, a small seaside tourist/fishing town on Yuin land in New South Wales, Australia. ⓘ
BLP produces unique stamps and postcards, which you can buy from our online store or one of our drop-off points.
To learn how to send mail with BLP, visit one of our drop-off points.
Why use BLP?
Unique stamps and postmarks
At BLP, we produce our own postage stamps to frank your mail as proof-of-purchase. Our stamps highlight unique aspects of Bermagui and commemorate significant local and global events. View a list of all past issues at our stamps page.
BLP also uses custom hand-carved postmarks to cancel the stamps.
To receive updates about our stamps, postmarks and postcards, subscribe to The Pigeon, our bi-monthly newsletter.
Environmentally friendly
All BLP's mail is delivered on bicycle.
We also print our postcards on recycled paper.
Low cost
With Australia Post, you pay $1.50 for any domestic letter, whether it's to your next-door neighbour or the other side of the continent!
BLP charges 40c for all local mail. That's 70% cheaper than Australia Post!
